Jennifer Lopez has revealed The Bear star Ayo Edebiri made a groveling apology to her after branding the superstar’s career a ‘scam’ in a past interview.

Back in February 2020, the actress, 28, made an appearance on the Scam Goddess podcast and had some choice words about what she perceived was a fraud – J-Lo and her career.

She criticized the 54-year-old On The Floor hitmaker’s singing ability and said ‘her career is one long scam’.

‘I think she thinks she’s still good even though she’s not singing for most of these songs,’ Edebiri alleged, adding that she was ‘fascinated’ by the lore.

J-Lo revealed a ‘mortified’ Edebiri had come to her dressing room when they both awkwardly appeared on Saturday Night Live.

She told Variety: ‘She was mortified and very sweet She came to my dressing room and apologized with tears in her eyes, saying how terrible it was that she had said those things.

‘She felt really badly and loved my performance because we had just done my soundcheck and she actually got to hear me perform. She was just like, ‘I’m so f***ing sorry, it was so awful of me.’

‘It’s funny. I’ve heard similar things said about me throughout my career, so it really didn’t affect me.;

In her original chat Edebiri said: ‘I appreciate a good scam. Today, I was actually thinking about one of my favorite scams of all time, because J-Lo is performing at the Super Bowl halftime show.

She even discussed a long-standing and unfounded rumor that Lopez has allegedly used ghost singers in the past.

She also accused Lopez of injecting herself with human growth hormones to attain her fit body and youthful appearance.

Lopez will be releasing This Is Me… Now — her first studio album in 10 years — on February 16.

Can’t Get Enough, the first single from her upcoming ninth studio album, debuted on January 10.
