In southern Gaza, the chief surgeon for the International Committee of the Red Cross has sent an update from the European Hospital.
Dr Tom Potokar has been recording regular video diaries about the situation inside the hospital as staff try to treat a constant stream of patients with dwindling medical supplies.
In the clip, he describes “another totally exhausting day”, saying he has worked on five operations so far, including one on a young man who has lost his entire family.
He said the man suffered with “40% burns” and “some huge fractal wounds”.
“He was already in a state of shock and septic when we got him on the table,” he added.
His condition, Dr Potokar explained, made it difficult for staff to decide what action to take and which anaesthetic to use.
“There’s no blood in the hospital to give him, which is what he needs, so we can just do the best we can really,” he said.
Dr Potokar has previously given a harrowing account of an amputation his team performed on a six-year-old child with “very deep burn injuries”.
Israel has been urging civilians in northern Gaza to evacuate to the south of the Palestinian enclave as it pushes on with its ground operation.
But, strikes have continued to hit the region, with Hamas and the Israeli military blaming each other for the attacks.
Israel has said it is striking military targets only in southern and central Gaza.
