Nigel has been paid a staggering £1.5 million for his time in the jungle where he will face frightening Bushtucker trials where he will be forced to eat pigs testicles and deer’s blood.

He was all smiles as he revealed that he had made the decision to take part so he could engage with potential young voters who want to hear his political views.

Speaking to the MailOnline, he said: ‘I just think there’s a big young audience out there that watches the programme.

‘They’re people who are worth talking to and I’ve been messing around with TikTok for the past couple of months and you’d be surprised there are a lot of people out there who are interested in what I have to say. So that would be the reason, if you do see me there.’

When asked if he had watched fellow MP Matt Hancock on last year’s series, he replied: ‘Who didn’t?’

TikTok star Nella arrived just three hours after the politician landed, evading questions about who here least favourite co-star would be.

Another surprise alleged campmate is said to be Britney Spears’ estranged younger sister, Jamie Lynn.

Frankie Dettori has also roused suspicion, after he announced his retirement from horse racing after 35 years in December last year.

The show frequently features soap stars, and this year it has been rumoured the spots will be filled by Hollyoaks stalwart Nick Pickard and EastEnders actress Danielle Harold.

Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson fuelled speculation he was joining the line-up after he was missing from his podcast with Pete Wicks this week, suggesting he had left for Australia.

The last spot is surprisingly rumoured to be filled by MasterChef’ Grace Dent, despite her previously blasting the show.

In 2012, she also admitted that she was embarrassed to watch it, saying: ‘I snap my blinds firmly shut before settling down to watch I’m a Celeb, in fear the theme tune alone devalues my property.’
