A woman has revealed she cancelled her date the minute her suitor arrived at her front door after he sent her a ‘huge red flag’ text message.
Utsha Saha, who is originally from Canada but lives in the UK, received an unsavoury message from her date when he announced he was on his way to pick her up for their second meeting – after a successful first date.
Utsha, who goes by @shahutasaha on TikTok, posted a video explaining how the date took an awkward turn before it had even begun.
The clip, which has been viewed 4.5 million times since it was posted last year, features a frustrated Utsha breaking down the events of the evening after her date called her a ‘b***h’ – leaving her with no option but to break off the whole thing.
She explained: ‘So, I’ve dressed to get dinner tonight and this man is on his way, and he’s booked dinner, and he’s coming to pick me up.’
Utsha continued to explai she received a text as she was getting ready for the date when her date, whom she hasn’t named, announced he was on his way to pick her up from her house.
Revealing the text that left her feeling insulted, she said: ‘He goes, I kid you not, word for word… “Alright you shallow b***h. Don’t judge my car. I’ve had it since I was 18 and no one has a car in London.”‘
The content creator gave further insight into their ‘barely friendly’ relationship by admitting that it was the second time the pair had decided to meet following a successful first date.
Utsha revealed that the man is approximately 30 years of age with a ‘normal career’ and was appalled to be called a ‘cuss word’ before any relationship had been established.
She said: ‘I barely call my friends cuss words, and if we ever do playfully call each other b***h, it’s like people I’m very close with.’
I have very little tolerance for cuss words, especially from men I go on dates with. So, this really threw me off.’
After consulting her brother, she decided to confront the suitor when he arrived at her house, and ultimately decided to call off the date.
And according to Utsha, the man’s response confirmed she’d made the right decision.
He later called her and branded her rude for ‘intentionally’ allowing him to drive across the city before letting him down. She claims he then hung up on her before she could explain why his behaviour had been disrespectful.
Following their disagreement, the man allegedly called up Utsha once more to apologise and attempt to sway her decision, hoping for a second chance.
However, viewers of Utsha’s video were certain she should hold firm and praised her for standing up for herself – arguing she had ‘dodged a bullet’.
One person wrote: ‘HUGE RED FLAGS,’ while another warned, ‘Run girl don’t look back. First red flag he hung up on you then the ‘I’m sorry’.’
A third said: ‘His insecurities are showing before you even went on the date,’ while another wrote, ‘Wow! Dodged a huge bullet on that one!’
A final person commented: ‘Yip, maintain your boundaries/standards, his comment was disrespectful & not needed! Good for you for remaining polite.’
