Police have launched a double murder investigation after two bodies were discovered inside a property. Ambulance staff found a man and a woman dead at an address in Alpine Drive, Hednesford, just after midday on Tuesday, June 25.
A cordon has been put in place in the area as police work at the scene. The public has been asked not to speculate as detectives work to determine what happened.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: “We’ve launched a murder investigation after two bodies were discovered inside a house in Cannock. At about 12.30pm today (Tuesday 25 June), we were alerted by our colleagues at West Midlands Ambulance Service who were at an address on Alpine Drive in Hednesford.
“Sadly, the bodies of a man and a woman were found inside. Specially-trained officers have been assigned to support their families at this tragic time.”

Bodies found after ‘concern for welfare’ callout
A spokesperson for WMAS said: “We were called to a concern for welfare at house in Hednesford on Tuesday lunchtime. Two paramedic officers and an ambulance were sent to an address on Alpine Drive.
“After gaining access to the property at just before 12.20pm, paramedics found a man and a woman inside. Sadly, it was immediately obvious that nothing could be done to save them and ambulance staff immediately alerted Staffordshire police.”
