Greater Manchester hour-by-hour Met Office snow forecast as warnings issued

Greater Manchester is set to be hit by heavy snowfall tomorrow (February 8).

Temperatures are set to drop as low as 0C in some boroughs. It comes as many parts of northern England are covered by both yellow and amber snow warnings.




Currently, a yellow warning is covering Greater Manchester from 6am on Thursday to 6am on Friday, February 9. An amber snow warning has also been issued from 12pm to 6pm but covers areas in Yokrshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.

Forecasters have warned that as snow starts to fall, delays on the roads and railways are likely. National Highways has urged anyone using motorways in the North West and North East regions of England tomorrow, including the M62, to check ahead and ‘plan for disruption’.

Up to 20cm of snow could fall on the highest part of the motorway, National Highways added.
