Manchester United legend Gary Neville has shown his appreciation for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds have made a strong start to the season, currently sitting two points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal. After overhauling his midfield in the summer, Klopp described his current side as ‘Liverpool 2.0’ and the manager will be eager to bring trophies back to Anfield, once again, after a disappointing campaign last term.
Neville has often praised Klopp’s work with the Reds, despite his strong ties to Man United. When asked about the title race at the weekend, Neville highlighted the importance of Klopp: “Liverpool I’m not sure about but then they’ve got Klopp, so I think that’s a factor because he can win and he’s proven he can win,” he said on the Gary Neville Podcast.

His admiration of Klopp continued on the latest episode of Stick to Football. The Sky Sports pundit admitted he would have enjoyed being part of a Klopp team during his playing days, when asked if he would prefer to play under the Liverpool boss or Man City manager Pep Guardiola.
“I’ve answered this before and I’ve said Jurgen Klopp,” Neville told The Overlap. “Purely for the football, his personality and character. It’s the style of football I like with the speed.”
Neville’s answer was echoed by Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, as well as Arsenal hero Ian Wright. Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane was the only dissenting voice among the group, envisioning himself occupying the role that Rodri currently occupies in Guardiola’s side.
