Celebrity Big Brother has revealed that Gary Goldsmith and Lauren Simon will be the first housemates to face the public vote ahead of Friday night’s first live eviction of the series.
During Thursday night’s episode the housemates learned that Lauren had received the most nominations from her fellow housemates this week.
Meanwhile Gary was previously nominated by celebrity lodger Sharon Osbourne who had the power to nominate one housemate to face the first live eviction.
Lauren received six nominations from Bradley Riches, Colson Smith, Gary Goldsmith, Marisha Wallace, Nikita Kuzmin and Zeze Millz.
Voting for this week’s eviction will open at the end of Thursday’s show exclusively via the Big Brother app, with viewers being asked to vote for the housemate they wish to save from eviction.
Friday night’s episode will see either Gary, 58, or Lauren, 51, be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house before they join hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best over on Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live as they grill the evictee in their first live interview.
Gary’s nomination comes after several housemates wasted no time in asking the uncle of Kate Middleton his reasons behind being in the house.
Sharon took a swipe at Gary during Wednesday’s episode as she questioned his true intentions of being in the house.
The millionaire businessman was one of three housemates in the ‘danger zone’ and risked being picked by Sharon, 71, as one of the star’s up for elimination.
Gary, David Potts and Zeze Millz were all given a chance to explain why they should be kept in the house as they each beg her to keep them in.
Kate Middleton’s uncle admitted he wants the chance to change the public’s perception of him, after always being known as the ‘black sheep’ of the family.
Sharon said: ‘So, we’re going to have a nice little chat Gary. Tell me why did you accept the offer to come into the house?’
Gary said: ‘It does bother me what the public perception of me is. The black sheep of the family. I’m a normal bloke. It just so happens that my niece married Will.’
The businessman then insisted that he has no interest in being a celebrity himself.
He said: ‘If I could show people I’m not that person. I’ve really put myself out there because this isn’t my world. Ultimately, I’m not a celebrity. I don’t want to be a celebrity, I don’t want to go down that path.
But Sharon was instantly sceptical of this claim and replied: ‘Why don’t I believe you when you say that?’
Meanwhile fans were left in hysterics after Fern Britton wasted no time in quizzing Gary on Tuesday.
As the housemates got to know each other and began to mingle the TV presenter was straight to the point as she asked Gary: ‘I’m just fascinated in why are you here?’
Slightly taken aback, Gary replied: ‘Because I want to prove I am not the caricature portrayed in the press’.
Wondering whether he will reveal any royal gossip, Fern continued: ‘And how much can you say about everything?’
Gary added: ‘Well I can pretty much give my opinion about everything,’ before joking: ‘Unless a red laser dot appears on my chest’.
With Kate out of the spotlight while recovering from abdominal surgery, royal fans will no doubt hope that the millionaire businessman, 58, will open up about his relationship with his niece, who he says is ‘the most spectacular person I’ve ever met.’
Elsewhere Lauren shocked viewers with a very raunchy confession just seconds after her arrival on Monday’s launch show.
The Real Housewives of Cheshire star made some very x-rated remarks in her introduction video tape.
When talking about what will be her favourite topic to discuss in the house Lauren said: ‘I don’t like talking about politics because I don’t really understand it.
‘I like talking about sex because I’m really good at that! I’m a natural flirt – I flirt with men, cats, dogs, women!’
It came as her daughter begging her not to talk about sex ahead of the show kicking off.
Lauren shares two daughters – Gigi and Kika – with her ex husband Paul Simon.
After pulling up in the famous car and bounding up onto stage Will asked Lauren’s daughter Gigi, 19, if she had any final words for her as she stood in the audience.
She then quipped: ‘Don’t have any sex!’
Lauren then exclaimed ‘no sex’ with a pained expression on her face.
Will then checked if her daughter had actually warned Lauren against any sexual activity in the house as he booed the notion.
AJ asked her what other home comforts she would miss before Will interjected: ‘Other than sex!’
