Presenter Gabby Logan has made a heartbreaking health confession as she shared concerns about her career.

The TV and radio host, 51, explained that going through the menopause made her worried she would forget people’s names. She admitted brain fog was the hardest part for her, as she thought it would affect her job as a sports presenter. Gabby shared she has started HRT (hormone replacement therapy), which has made her see a real difference.

The Welsh presenter also ensures she does regular brain exercises to keep herself focused and has adapted the way she works to ease her concerns. Gabby now always carries a piece of paper on set, so she is able to make notes on what she needs to remember. She admitted the brain fog “affected her the most” as she said: “Feeling slightly unsure about things was such an unfamiliar feeling – and I thought, ‘Oh, God, am I going to keep doing my job if I can’t recall somebody’s name?’

“Fortunately, HRT has been great and I try to do regular exercise for my brain now, whether that’s testing myself on remembering numbers or people’s names.” Gabby graced the cover of Good Housekeeping’s July edition ahead of the Olympics in Paris. She looked gorgeous in a gold gown as well as a white suit.

Gabby is married to sportsman Kenny Logan, who she shares twins Lois and Reuben with. They said ‘I do’ in 2001 and Gabby has shared the key to their success is to support each other through hard times. She said marriage is a “team sport” as she told the publication: “Sometimes there’s going to be a player who needs picking up, and other times they’re the star of the game and it’s someone else who needs the boost.”

The mum-of-two said marriage is “the same” and that they “never stop working at it”. Gabby previously opened up on the couple’s experience with fertility as they welcomed their twins via IVF in 2005. Speaking on the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast to former I’m A Celeb winner Giovanna Fletcher, Gabby explained: “I thought I’d have more children, I always thought I’d have four children. Just the other night I said to Kenny, when we were talking about our empty house and the future, that we should have had more children.”

She explained she often thinks to herself ‘how did that happen?’ and added: “I think I know how it happened, because when you have twins as your firstborn, you think life’s going to get back to normal and it never does. I mean, that’s the same with everybody, but we were waiting for that day where we felt: ‘Everything’s under control now. Now we can have another baby.’ We should have just gone for it straight away.”

The July 2024 issue of Good Housekeeping is now on sale.
