Zenless Zone Zero has just launched with 50 million downloads, not unexpected for the next giant Hoyoverse game in the wake of its other ongoing monster, Genshin Impact. I’ve played a bit so far, and it’s fine, but I need to give it more time. If you’re just starting out, however, there are some codes you can redeem that you probably don’t know about that will get you some valuable currency.
Right now there are five codes out in the wild, though you can only use four of them as two are essentially the same. We have:
- ZZZFREE100 – 300 Polychrome, 30,000 Denny, two Senior Investigator Logs, three W-Engine Energy Modules (this one expires on July 11)
- ZENLESSGIFT – 50 Polychrome, two Official Investigator Logs, three W-Engine Power Supply, one Bangboo Algorithm Modules
- ZENLESSLAUNCH – 60 Polychrome, 6,666 Denny
- ZZZ2024 or ZZZTVCM – 50 Polychrome, 6,000 Denny (cannot use both)
The free code can be redeemed at any point, but the others must be claimed after hitting level 5 in the game, which goes pretty fast.
You redeem these by going to the main menu, hitting “more” and then there’s an option for code redemption. They are not case-sensitive.
This is in addition to welcome gifts just for starting to play. That includes: 1,600 Polychrome, 20 Encrypted Master Tapes, 70 Master Tapes, 80 Boopons, Free Agent Corin. It’s not clear when this initial promo might end, as it may be a while, but I’d still log in now to claim it just in case.
So, all this will get you a good number of initial pulls, over 100, but you can also just save the currency for when they inevitably add future heroes later on. But I mean, just starting out, you probably want to build your collection quickly.
Playing the game, my initial impression is that it’s fairly basic combat and controls early on here are designed mainly for mobile play. It’s mostly two attacks and a lot of character switching, and the “large button” model seems even more intended for mobile than Genshin Impact. Still, it no doubt has a ton of players on PC or console as well.
I have no doubt that this will make a ton of money for Hoyoverse, but my gut tells me this will not be as popular as Genshin Impact in the long run. But I mean, if this is even 20% as successful, that’s still huge, given the billions Genshin has earned. And 50 million downloads is obviously an extremely great start.
