The Florida Joker that seemingly inspired a character shown in the GTA 6 reveal trailer is demanding $2 million from Rockstar for using his “likeness”.
In a video posted on social media, the “real-life” Joker reiterated his thoughts from his previous video. He pointed at the character from the game side-by-side with a picture of him, repeating over and over that it was clear who they character was inspired by.
“We gotta talk GTA, or not you guys gotta give me a million or two,” he said in the video. “Holla at me GTA. Rockstar Entertainment.”
As far as if he has any chance at getting any money from Rockstar, that’s highly unlikely. Rockstar can easily claim the in-game character is a parody. There’s also the case of when actress Lindsay Lohan tried to sue Rockstar, claiming the likeness of a girl in GTA V was based on her.
That case was ultimately thrown out with Judge Eugene Fahey saying, “[The] artistic renderings are indistinct, satirical representations of the style, look and persona of a modern, beach-going young woman… that is not recognizable as plaintiff.”
Rockstar hasn’t commented on the demands of the Florida Joker, and likely won’t in any official capacity.
