Heavy snow is set to fall in Liverpool next week, according to the latest forecast from the Met Office.
Weather forecasters have shared mixed predictions about the level of snow that will fall across parts of the UK in the coming days. The Met Office has now updated its forecast to show heavy snow will fall in Liverpool on Tuesday, January 16.
However, it appears the snowfall will be short lived, with the forecast for Tuesday predicting “heavy snow changing to cloudy by late morning.” The main time snowfall is expected is from 6am up until 9am on Tuesday.
Elsewhere in the region, snow is also expected to fall on Tuesday morning, including in parts of Wirral. The latest forecast for St Helens also shows heavy snow on Tuesday before this changes to cloudy by lunchtime.

The UK Health Security Agency has issued a seven day cold weather alert for areas across the UK including Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire and Manchester. The yellow cold health warning came into force on January 11 and will remain in place until midday on January 18.
The alert said: “Significant impacts are possible across the health and social care sector due to forecast weather conditions, including: observed increase in mortality across the population, particularly in the 65+ age group or those with certain underlying health conditions, but impacts may also be seen in younger age groups.
“Increased demand for remote health care services likely, impact on ability of services delivered due to effects on workforce possible, maintaining indoor temperatures at recommended 18°c may become challenging for some, leading to increased risk of vulnerable people.”
