Match report and scorecard from England Men’s Deaf team’s victory in the fourth IT20 against India
England Men’s Deaf 152-4 beat India Men’s Deaf 151-5 by six wickets
England Men’s Deaf team won the fourth IT20 at Northampton to tie their seven-match series against India at 2-2.
It was Josh Price who led the way for the hosts, with a sparkling 69 not out to marshal a not unconsiderable chase.
Sai Akash, India’s opener who’s starred across the series, was at it again, making 62 as his team posted 151-5 from their 20 overs.
Having restricted England to nothing beyond 132 so far in the series, India would have been confident of going 3-1 up in the series but a fine partnership between Price and Umesh Valjee (46 from 32) tied the series for George Greenway’s side. The series continues at Astwood Bank CC on Tuesday.
Greenway said: “We are very proud to get over the line with Josh Price and Umesh Valjee getting us off to a great start before Josh completed it. It’s 2-2 with everything to play for on Tuesday. I’m very proud of the boys.”
