Emergency services blocked a main road in Cheadle on Sunday night (May 26) amid a water rescue mission. Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to Wilmslow Road following reports of a man in difficulty in the nearby Micker Brook.
Police attended the incident along the main road, beside Brookfields Park, as water rescue teams from the fire service were called in to help at around 8pm.
A scene was also in place on nearby Broadway Avenue before a man was rescued from the water using specialist equipment.

Pictures from the scene on Sunday night show a number of police cars, ambulances and fire engines in attendance, with Wilmslow Road closed off in both directions for over an hour.
The condition of the man, who was later seen by paramedics, has not yet been confirmed. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further details on the incident.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 8pm this evening (Sunday 26th May) firefighters were called to reports of a person in need of rescue on Broadway Avenue, Cheadle.
“Two fire engines from Cheadle and Wythenshawe fire stations, alongside the Technical Response Unit from Ashton and the Water Incident Unit from Eccles, arrived quickly at the scene.
“Crews used specialist water rescue equipment to extricate one man from water before conveying him to the care of our colleagues at North West Ambulance Service. GMFRS were in attendance for just over one hour.”
