EastEnders star Jessie Wallace has provided an update after getting surgery on her foot.
Recognised for playing Kat Slater on and off since 2000, Wallace shared a photo on Instagram over the weekend, which showed her right foot strapped up in a special recovery boot.
“Thank you RNOHT [Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital] for my my Silastic Arthroplasty. After years of excruciating pain I am FREE!” she wrote in the caption.

This particular procedure replaced damaged joints in her feet with artificial ones.
In the post’s comments section, Wallace’s East End co-star Shane Richie joked: “After all our years together I never knew that all your piggies literally f***ed off to the market!”
“Good on ya Jessie. I thought it was caused by giving Phil Mitchell an ass kicking,” quipped one of her fans, while a second shared: “I have just got out of one of those sandals after recently having bunion surgery! Foot surgery is so painful. Speedy recovery and keep it elevated! X”.

In similar news, Linda Carter actor Kellie Bright recently overcame some pain of her own while playing crochet.
“SWIPE RIGHT if you want to see how I ended up with a strained ligament and all taped up,” she captioned a social media post, with its second picture displaying Bright as she held a ball of yarn and crocheting needle.
“Please tell me someone else who crochets has experienced this???? So frickin painful!!!!!”
