The next Cyberpunk game, codenamed Orion, is just beginning to flicker into life. Earlier today, Igor Sarzyński, the title’s narrative director, revealed that it was his first day in CD Projekt Red’s Boston office — which is where the core Cyberpunk team has relocated. Earlier this week, quest director Pawel Sasko also posted about his arrival at the new place. Exciting times for everyone involved.
“First day in the Boston office! So good to meet old friends and officially kickstart our Orion journey. I couldn’t be more excited for this project and i’m sure we can make it something special. 2077 was just a warm-up,” Sarzyński wrote on Twitter.
Of course, it’s still going to be a long time until we see anything of Orion. CDPR is still hiring for positions in Boston, and based on further comments from Sasko, the project itself is still being workshopped. “Our core band had exciting discussions about next #Cyberpunk2077 game,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, the next Witcher game appears to be CDPR’s main priority at this point. Assuming that’s still at least a few years off, Orion is likely an age away. Still, it’s a fresh landmark for the developer as it slowly but surely wraps up its work on Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty.
