Update: The free trial for Cyberpunk 2077 is now available through the PS Store until Sunday night. You can play five hours of CD Projekt Red’s open world game, and the progress that you make can be carried over to the full thing should you decide to grab it later on.
Keep in mind, though, that you’ll be downloading the full game for the purposes of this trial — and it ain’t small. It weighs in at around 99GB on PS5, so you may need to make some room on your SSD.
Original Story: Cyberpunk 2077 will be made completely free on PS5 this coming weekend, letting anyone and everyone download the game from the PS Store and take it for a spin. This extended trial, which gives you five hours to do whatever you want, starts on Friday the 28th March and ends on Sunday 31st March, just before midnight.
It’s also worth noting that this is just the base game — not the Phantom Liberty expansion.
If you haven’t yet tried Cyberpunk for yourself, this might be the perfect time to jump in. The game’s been heavily updated over the last few months, to the point where the PS5 version is what we’d now consider one of the best open world titles on the market.
We gave the game an 8/10 when it first came to Sony’s current-gen console, but honestly, it was the 2.0 Update (and the aforementioned Phantom Liberty DLC) that really pushed it into borderline masterpiece territory.
