Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live descended into chaos Friday evening as Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu clashed with Layton Williams after her eviction from the house on Friday.
The Love Island star, 29, was left looking rather sheepish after attempting to ‘blame the edit’ for her unfair portrayal on the show in light of her explosive argument with Marisha Wallace during Thursday’s episode.
Ekin-Su broke down in hysterical tears after Marisha picked her in the face-face nominations before storming off to her bed as the musical star, 38, followed to apologise.
Speaking about the dramatic performance, which saw Ekin-Su branding the theatre star as ‘fake’, Layton shot back at the reality star as he revealed his full support for Marisha in the confrontation.
Ekin exclaimed: ‘When Marisha nominated me that actually showed me her true colours, that she had been thinking about winning the game the whole time.’
Host AJ Odudu attempted to reason with the star as she suggested: ‘Well what we have got to remember, you know she’s American it’s strategy, game playing.’
But Layton was quick to intervene as he explained: ‘Marisha had to pick someone basically and she did pick you, just like you picked Louis.
‘Louis squashed it you know and kind of kept it moving and unfortunately you dragged it on and I kind of did feel for Marisha in that moment.
‘I was like, you know what this is her big day, she had just been told she had been nominated for an Olivier Award and to see her crying in the Big Brother…’ as Ekin-Su interrupted: ‘You haven’t seen everything they have cut stuff out but ok.’
Yet Layton was having none of it, as he hit back: ‘Don’t blame it on the edit, one thing we are not going to do is blame it on the edit.
‘We’re not blaming it on the edit girl. We see what we see and it was just a shame, it was a big shame.’
As host Will Best opened it up to the audience to try and garner some support for Ekin-Su, he struggled to find an audience member that was on her side.
‘Anyone?’ he asked, before one audience member put his hand up. ‘I wouldn’t say I was on Ekin’s side, but I would say I really respected you setting your boundaries and saying “look I need space” I think that was a really mature response’.
‘So were the rest of you on the fence or were you on Marisha’s side?’ asked Will, to which the audience all exclaimed: ‘Marisha!’
One audience member then told Ekin: ‘I think sometimes you need to listen to the positives, you never listened to the positive’.
‘Do you think that’s fair? That you sometimes need to listen to the positives when they are next to a negative’ questioned Will.
‘No I am taking the positive side,’ explained Ekin-Su, ‘I’m just hurt that I wasn’t portrayed as myself on the show’.
As an awkward silence fell across the studio, and Layton exclaimed: ‘Wait?!’ a somewhat exasperated, AJ said: ‘It’s interesting because you have literally just walked out of the house.
‘You don’t know what’s been seen or what’s been said, but I can assure you that everything that has been seen and has been said has been said by you.’
Giving no response, Ekin-Su silently nodded, before her mum then interrupted the show in an attempt to defend her.
‘Can I ask a question?’ she began ‘Erm, when Sharon was leaving she nominated three names, but she said two names and when she was saying the third name it has been cut out, why? Why has the third name been cut out?’
‘No I think she just gave two names,’ assured Will as Ekin told her mum to ‘leave it’ before adding that she loved Sharon Osbourne.
The presenters then tried to get the show back on track as they swiftly changed the topic to try and avoid any more awkwardness.
After the episode almost descended into chaos, fans took to Twitter as they shared their reaction to the interview.
Loving the drama, one wrote: ‘All I want is Layton and Ekin Su on Sundays Late & Live together’ while a second penned: ‘sorry, layton absolutely gathered ekin su lol’.
A third chimed: ‘OMG NOT LAYTON CONFRONTING EKIN SU OMG THE DEBATES TONIGHT’.
Another supportive fan added: ‘Good on Layton and AJ for bringing Ekin Su slap back down to Earth… she is complaining about an edit of a show that has a live stream and also a show she has not seen.’
Another excitedly exclaimed: ‘I PERSONALLY LOVED THE DRAMA’.
Remarking on the awkwardness of the segment, another wrote: ‘The show is SOOOO awkward I almost had to stop watching when they said who was on Ekin Sus side and no one said anything’.
Another wrote: ‘LIVED FOR IT! So sick of people of blaming their spineless behaviour on the edit!!!! X’ and another added: ‘I actually feel awkward and I’m not even there hahahaha’.
A fan of Ekin-Su shared their support for her as they defended: ‘Ekin Su has not come across her best, but AJ, Will and Layton were absolutely disgusting to her on the show just now, when all she’s done is be a bit weird and dramatic on a reality show.’
Meanwhile other’s were left confused by Ekin’s mum’s attempt to support her daughter, as they remarked: ‘Did Ekin Su’s Mum just try to claim a live show was deepfaked?’
A second added: ‘Ekin Su mum tried to say Sharon named Ekin in her Top 3 best people when leaving, but big brother edited out. IT WAS LIVE TV DARLIN ???
Another wrote: ‘cringing soooo hard at late & live omg ekin su and her mum are fuming’.
Another added: ‘F*****g all this is awkward and now Ekin Su’s mum is having to try and bail her out’ while another penned: ‘ekin su telling her mum not to talk about sharon’.
Another exclaimed: ‘the way i am cringing at ekin su trying to say it’s the edits fault she hasn’t been portrayed as herself and then her MUM PIPES UP this is EMBARRASSINGGGGG’.
