Car crashes into building and man cut from vehicle during crash in Oldham

A car crashed into a building and a man had to be cut from a vehicle following a crash in Oldham. One vehicle crashed into the old bank building during the collision at the junction of Featherstall Road North and Middleton Road, close to Westwood tram stop.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene at about 9.30pm. Two men were treated by paramedics at the scene, and one of them had to be taken to hospital for further checks.




Residents reported seeing the police helicopter in the air around the time of the incident.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just after 9.30pm on Sunday 19 November, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Middleton Road, Oldham. Two fire engines from Oldham and Chadderton, alongside the technical response unit from Ashton, quickly attended the incident, which involved two cars.

“Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to extricate a man from one of the vehicles. North West Ambulance Service provided treatment to two men at the scene, with one taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

“Firefighters then helped make the area safe before handing over to Greater Manchester Police. GMFRS crews were in attendance for around 45 minutes.”
