A 38-year-old woman who was stabbed on a beach in an attack where another woman was killed has been discharged from hospital.

Amie Gray, a 34-year-old personal trainer, died at the scene, while the 38-year-old suffered serious injuries.

The man, who was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been transported from London to Bournemouth and is still being interviewed by specialist detectives.

Two locations in Bournemouth have been forensically examined and searched, according to Dorset Police.

Officers have also searched two separate addresses in Croydon.

Det Supt Richard Dixey, of the major crime investigation team, described the case as “fast-moving” and “extensive”.

An enhanced police presence would remain in the area into the weekend, the force added.

At an inquest into Mrs Gray’s death, opened at Bournemouth Coroners Court, her cause of death was recorded as multiple stab wounds.

Mrs Gray’s wife Sian said she would miss her “immensely”, adding: “Her giggly laugh and big smile will be hard to be without.”

Sharon Macklin, Mrs Gray’s mother, described her as “amazing, funny and kind” with an “energetic soul”.

“When Amie entered a room it filled with laughter and her presence could not be ignored,” she said.

“She was beautiful inside and out and there are no words that can express how empty our lives will be without he.”

Dorset Futsal Club, a women’s indoor football team where Mrs Gray was head coach, said they were “absolutely devastated”.
