Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez haven’t been photographed together for 47 days, sparking tabloid rumors of marital tension.
The A-list couple was last seen in public on March 30, holding hands while strolling through New York City.
The 54-year-old “I’m Real” singer has been spending a lot of time in the city, promoting her new Netflix film, Atlas, and co-chairing this year’s Met Gala.
Lopez has also been busy filming Kiss of the Spiderwoman, a feature adaptation of the 1993 Broadway musical based on Manuel Puig’s 1976 novel, co-starring Andor’s Diego Luna.
Meanwhile, the Oscar-winner, 51, is reportedly on the West Coast working on The Accountant 2 and attending the Roast of Tom Brady on May 5.
And now their solo public appearances have fueled rampant speculation about their marriage with an insider claiming “it’s over” between the pair.
A source told InTouch: “They waited almost two decades to get back together, but in the end, they just couldn’t make it work.
“They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”
The source claimed that Affleck has moved out of their home to “focus on his work and his kids.”
Elsewhere, TMZ is speculating that the Air director is now permanently staying at his Brentwood home, supporting their claim with a photo of him driving away from the property.
The Standard has contacted Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s reps for comment.
The famous pair, known as Bennifer, have had a highly publicised romance that began in 2001 on the set of the critically panned Gigli.
However, the public’s fascination with their romance later turned into scrutiny after Gigli received mixed reactions.
The backlash strained their relationship, leading them to postpone their September 2003 wedding just days before it was scheduled, citing the “excessive media attention” as a factor. Four months later, the pair split.
In a 2008 appearance on Live, Affleck reflected on their relationship, noting that neither anticipated the intense scrutiny they faced, sharing, “We fell in love, we were excited, and maybe too accessible.”
Affleck went on to marry Jennifer Garner and welcomed three children – daughters Violet, 18, and Fin, 15, and son Samuel, 12 – before divorcing in 2014. While Lopez married Puerto Rican singer Marc Anthony just five months after her breakup with Affleck.
The pair were married for seven years and had two children – twins Emme and Max, 16 – before separating in 2011 and officially divorcing in 2014.
In 2021, Affleck and Lopez reignited their romance 18 years after their split.
They eloped first to Las Vegas in July 2022, followed by a grand ceremony at Affleck’s 87-acre estate near Savannah, Georgia, the next month.
