A huge BBC icon has revealed she will ‘never work with a fellow TV star again’ despite their 20-year long career and friendship together.
Susannah Constantine, 61, and Trinny Woodall, 60, were the fashion experts everyone wanted to go to before they ended their TV partnership.
The pair worked together for 20 years from 1994-2014 and presented the famed BBC programme What Not To Wear.
But Susannah recently admitted that their days of working with one another in the past.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: ‘No, I would not revive it, I think What Not To Wear was an incredible show.
‘The way we did it doesn’t have its place today unfortunately, it would be great but it’s time for the next round of women or men to do it, Trinny and I had our time.
‘Trinny is so busy with her make-up brand which is phenomenal, and we’ve always been polar opposites and now our lifestyles reflect that so I am very happy living in the countryside, I now consider myself to be a mum first and a wife, very 1950s, who also happens to work.’
The duo first worked together in 1994 before finding fame in 2001 when they presented What Not To Wear. They defected to ITV in 2006 with their show Trinny And Susannah Undress.
Trinny and Susannah reunited to celebrate Trinny’s Fear Less book launch in September 2023.
Susannah took to Instagram to share a doting snap of the pair cuddling and wrote a moving caption to share how proud she was of her.
She wrote: ‘I don’t know what it’s like to run a hugely successful and massively growing business like.
‘But I do know the dedication and time it takes to write a book. @trinnywoodall has done both. And both are best in class.
‘But these achievements pale beside the love she has for her friends and most importantly her daughter. Trinny the Mum IS best in class.’
Trinny responded: ‘How much do I love you’.
The pair revealed that they went through a ‘mourning process’ when their TV stint ended because it was ‘like a marriage’.
Trinny admitted she grieved when their partnership ended in 2014 around the same time her ex-husband Johnny Elichaoff died, even appearing to admit she sought help from a counsellor or therapist.
Speaking on her podcast My Wardrobe Malfunction in 2020, Susannah said: ‘I remember you saying that you had gone to see someone, and they said you were mourning two things – you were mourning Johnny and also the end of our partnership.’
Trinny admitted there were times she ‘hated’ Susannah, but that their relationship was ‘like a marriage’ because they loved and knew each other so well.
After years of touring the world teaching the public how to dress, the pair went their separate ways.
Susannah took part in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Strictly Come Dancing, published a novel and started her podcast.
Meanwhile Trinny began her eponymous makeup brand TRINNY LONDON which she now runs and has just released her new book Fear Less.
