Odegaard’s “smart” demand

Following their win over Wolves, Gunners captain Odegaard admitted he was disappointed at the way they allowed their opponents back into the game and warned his teammates they need to “learn from that”.

He told BBC Match of the Day: “We started so strong again. The first half was brilliant, we scored two good goals and dominated everything. We let them in a little bit with the goal, but that’s football. I guess we have to learn from that. We know in the Premier League that you can never switch off.

“Today was a good example of that. We have to make sure we do even better next time we go 2-0 up. [The schedule] is tough, but almost the whole season is tough. You don’t have much time to recover. We have to be smart with our recovery and get some rest before the next game [against Luton Town].”

Arteta hails “extraordinary” win

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was full of praise for the way his side played against Wolves, despite Oleksandr Zinchenko making an error which led to Cunha’s late goal.

Reflecting on the victory, Arteta touched on Zinchenko’s mistake as he hailed an “extraordinary” performance. He told Sky Sports : “I’m really happy with the way we played, the way we dominated the game.

“The amount of chances, big situations that we generated to win the game much more comfortably. But yeah, in the end, we made an error, they use that error to go 2-1 and then it’s game on in this league but I think the team was extraordinary today.”

Henry’s surprising claim

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has claimed he now gets recognised more for his punditry work on CBS than his impressive playing career with Arsenal, Barcelona and France.

“My career wasn’t s***e, sorry to say, but I get as many compliments now from what I did on the field as with CBS,” Henry told The Sun . “Sometimes people come up to me and ask for a picture. I expect they will say they love Arsenal or Barcelona or the French national team, whatever it is…but they say, ‘No, I love you on CBS’.

“There is a difference between fitting in, which is what I felt I was doing in some shows before, and here I belong. There is great energy, we can laugh, we can talk about war, we can talk about anything. Sometimes it’s a bit edgy, that is how a family is. That’s why it’s the best show I’ve been on.”
