Arsenal and Everton have sent their support to former striker Kevin Campbell as it emerged he is seriously ill in hospital.
The Premier League clubs both released a short statement sending their love to the 54-year-old and his family.
Campbell was admitted to hospital last week but no further details about the nature of his illness have been released.
Everton posted this message On X: “We have been made aware our former striker Kevin Campbell is currently very unwell.
“Not just a great footballer but an incredible person, Kevin is, and always has been, a fighter and we wish him and his family well at this challenging time. Sending all our love.”
Arsenal, meanwhile, said: “Everyone at the club is sending love to Kevin Campbell and his family, following news that our former striker is very unwell. We’re thinking of you, Kevin Campbell.”

Campbell started his career at Arsenal and won five trophies with the north London club.
He was a member of Arsenal’s league title-winning squad in 1990–91 and also helped the Gunners win the FA Cup and League Cup double in 1993, as well as the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1994.
He moved on to Nottingham Forest, where he spent three years, before joining the Toffees in 1999 on loan from Turkish side Trabzonspor.
He then made his move to Goodison Park permanent that summer and made 160 appearances for the club in total, scoring 50 goals, and becoming a huge fan favourite.
Campbell also had spells at West Brom and Cardiff before hanging up his boots in 2006, and moving into the media.
Campbell’s former teammate at Arsenal Ray Parlour also sent a heartfelt message to the ex-striker.
“I hear my ex-teammate Kevin Campbell is struggling at the moment,” he said in a video on X.
“All your friends and family, all the football family are right behind you Kev. I know you’re a strong character mate, stay positive.
“I’m sure everybody is on your side trying to help you, so hopefully get well soon mate and you’ll be back flying as usual.”
