Arriva has scrapped a Liverpool bus route with more service changes planned for Monday.
From today, Friday, January 19 the service 420 from West Kirby to Liverpool will no longer be in operation. Service 395 from Ormskirk to Wigan will also come off the roads from Saturday, January 20.
Arriva is changing a number of routes and timetables , as well as removing the two from service altogether. It says this is to meet demand, which has increased on some routes and decreased on others.

A spokesperson for Arriva said: “We continuously review all our routes to make sure that we provide customers with the best service that we can, while also ensuring we are able to continue operating a stable bus network over the longer term.
“Following a gradual decline in passenger numbers through the pandemic, diminishing levels of funding, together with increases in inflationary costs pressures we are now in a position where we need to look at making changes to ensure that our bus network efficiently meets new travel patterns and demand and ultimately is sustainable.
“We would like to thank all our customers over the years who have travelled with us on services 395 and 420.” Here are the rest of the changes that will be happening across our region on or before January 21:
