Armoy crash victim named as police appeal for information

A man who died in a Co Antrim crash on Sunday has been named as Michael Scally.

The 34-year-old from the Ballycastle area died following a single-vehicle collision in Armoy on December 10.




The PSNI were called to the incident in Armoy on Sunday evening after 11:30pm.

The crash involving a silver Peugeot 207 occurred within the vicinity of the Coolkeeran Road.

Emergency services attended the incident and first aid was provided at the scene before he was taken to hospital where he later died.

Officers confirmed that no other passengers were present during the incident.

In a previous statement, the PSNI said: “A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding what happened is ongoing.

“Officers would appeal to anyone with any information or who may have dash-cam or mobile phone footage available to contact them at the Collision Investigation Unit at Sprucefield on 101, quoting reference number 1912 10/12/23.”

Michael was the second death on Northern Ireland roads at the weekend after a cyclist died after a collision on The New Line in Carrickfergus on Sunday morning.
