A man has been arrested after armed police were called out to someone “behaving suspiciously” with a knife near a fast food restaurant. Gloucestershire Police said officers received reports of the incident earlier today (November 3) in the Church Lane area of Hardwicke.
The force said calls were made after a man in dark clothing carrying a knife was acting in a suspicious manner. A man in his 20s from Gloucester is in custody after being arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article.
Police said a knife was recovered just before 5.35pm from outside the McDonald’s on the Hardwicke roundabout. An appeal for information has been issued over the incident.

A statement from police said: “Armed officers arrested a man on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in Hardwicke this evening (Friday, November 3). The arrest was made and a knife recovered outside McDonald’s on the Hardwicke roundabout just before 5.35pm.
“It followed reports of a man in dark clothing with a knife behaving suspiciously in the Church Lane area. The arrested man, aged in his 20s and from Gloucester, remains in police custody tonight.
“Anyone with information or anyone who saw the man earlier in the evening but hasn’t spoken to police is asked to call 101 or complete this online form, quoting incident 374 of 3 November.”
