Aliso Viejo Phlebotomist Accused of Assaults on Customers
Orange County sheriff’s deputies asked for the public’s help Thursday tracking down potential victims of a phlebotomist in a medical laboratory in Aliso Viejo accused of touching customers in a sexual way.
Jose Farias, 29, of San Juan Capistrano, was booked Wednesday on suspicion of battery and released from jail, according to jail records.
An 18-year-old woman told deputies on Aug. 29 she was touched in a sexual manner by the suspect as she gave blood, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Todd Hylton said. A 30-year-old woman came forward Tuesday with a similar allegation, Hylton said.
Deputies suspect there may be more potential victims and asked anyone with information to call 714-647-7419. Orange County Crime Stoppers will accept anonymous tips at 855-TIP-OCCS or on the organization’s website at occrimestoppers.org.
Farias was charged in March with a felony count of vandalizing a Lexus car on Aug. 14, 2021. He has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial in that case.
