Euro 2024 groups announced with Scotland needing to ‘do homework’
A late goal from Ollie Watkins grabbed a point for Aston Villa in a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth after a pulsating, end-to-end Premier League clash.
Bournemouth took the lead in the 10th minute through Antoine Semenyo but Villa levelled 10 minutes later when Leon Bailey jinked inside Milos Kerkez before lashing the ball across Neto and in at the far post.
Villa had a first-half goal chalked off for offside and Dominic Solanke looked to have sealed the deal for Bournemouth seven minutes into the second half, but as the clock ticked up towards 90 minutes Watkins steered home a brilliant header to take a share of the points.
The result keeps Villa in fourth place in the table on 29 points after 14 games, while the Cherries remain above the relegation zone in 16th spot on 13 points.

Providing endless entertainment, an enthralling 2-2 draw sees the spoils shared between Bournemouth and high-flying Aston Villa, who snatched a late leveller through top scorer Watkins. In a frantic first half, Semenyo scored first and Bailey replied in some style, before Villa had a goal chalked off by the VAR. Though Solanke struck shortly after the break, Martinez made a fine catalogue of saves to keep his side in it, then the visitors stole a point late on. While the Cherries will be disappointed not to claim a third win on the spin, their visitors will be relieved to have avoided defeat by fighting back for a second week in succession. Following this pulsating contest, Villa host Premier League champions Manchester City on Wednesday; Bournemouth are bound for Selhurst Park, where they’ll meet Crystal Palace.
