Police have closed the A38 Sutton Coldfield Bypass in both directions to carry out ‘accident’ investigations. It follows an incident between the A446 London Road for Bassetts Pole Island and the M6 Toll JT3 for Tamworth and Sutton Coldfield.
One person posted on social media just after 1am that the crash looked “awful and very serious.” The collision happened at around 10.30pm on Friday, October 27.

Traffic data provider Inrix posted: “A38 Sutton Coldfield Bypass in both directions closed due to accident investigation work between A446 London Road (Bassetts Pole Island) and M6 Toll JT3 (Tamworth / Sutton Coldfield).
“The road remains closed following a serious accident which happened around 22:30 on the 27th of October. The M6 Toll exit slip is also closed at JT3.” BirminghamLive has approached West Midlands Police for a statement.

Crash happened around 10.30pm
Traffic data provider Inrix said the road remains closed following a serious accident, which happened at around 10.30pm last night.
