A new report from Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier on the development of Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has revealed that Warner Bros. is working on a new Hogwarts Legacy Director’s Cut.
In the Bloomberg report, Schreier details a lot of Suicide Squad’s shortcomings (which we encourage you to read here), but towards the end of the report, it’s said that Warner Bros. is now working on Director’s Cut of Hogwarts Legacy.
The game, which was developed by Avalanche Software was the most successful game in 2023, selling over 23 million copies. Within two weeks on launch, the game sold an impressive 12 million copies and generated over $850 million in global revenue. Given that Warner Bros. also lost over $200 million in the development of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, it makes sense to continue to capitalize on a successful release. It’s said that the majority of Rocksteady is working on the Directors Cut.
Today, Hogwarts Legacy will also be getting a huge new update across all platforms. The update is being promoted by WB Games encouraging users to share their screenshots taken in photomode with the hashtag #CaptureTheUnwritten.
It’s not entirely clear on what will be included in the Directors Cut, or when it will be released. But given that Bloomberg’s sources have revealed its existence, it could be announced sooner rather than later.
