There are ‘severe’ delays on a stretch of the M62 this morning due to ‘overrunning roadworks’.
Two lanes are closed off on the westbound side of the motorway between junction 22 and junction 20 near Rochdale. This is due to roadworks that have overrun, according to National Highways.
There are currently ‘severe’ delays of around 45 minutes. Drivers have been urged to ‘allow time’ this morning.

National Highways said in a post on X: “There are currently 45 minute delays on the #M62 in #GreaterManchester westbound between J22 and J20 #Rochdale due to overrunning roadworks which has closed 2 lanes. We’re working to get all lanes open as soon as possible.
“Thanks for your patience, please allow extra time.”
