A road in east Manchester is blocked this morning after a lorry overturned in a crash.
Emergency crews are currently responding to the crash on Cornwall Street in Gorton. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said the smash involved a flatbed lorry and another vehicle.
The lorry overturned in the crash. The driver was rescued from the cab by fire crews and escaped without serious injury, the spokesperson added.

Police remain on the scene. A stretch of Cornwall Road remains blocked.

Fire service statement: Man taken to hospital for ‘precautionary checks’
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said:
“Shortly after 7.50am this morning (Tuesday, 9 July), two fire engines from Gorton Community Fire Station, and the Technical Response Unit from Ashton-under-Lyne Community Fire Station, were called to attend a road traffic collision involving a flatbed truck and a car on Cornwall Street, Manchester.
“Crews arrived quickly and used specialist equipment to make the area safe. One male casualty was conveyed to hospital by North West Ambulance Service for precautionary checks.
“Firefighters were in attendance for approximately one hour.”

According to traffic alert service Inrix, Cornwall Street is blocked on the northbound side.
It is blocked between Odgen Lane and Dewey Street.
