Fenerbahce winger and Serbia captain Dusan Tadic has revealed why Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is the best coach he has ever worked with ahead of Jose Mourinho’s arrival in Turkey.
Ten Hag worked with the 35-year-old during his stint at Ajax and no other player featured more often for him in Amsterdam. United’s manager handed Tadic 194 appearances across all competitions.
The winger’s current boss is former United manager Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce, with the pair set to unite for the first time in their career once Euro 2024 is complete. But speaking after his team lost 1-0 to England in their opening Euro 2024 match in Group C, Tadic was adamant that Ten Hag shall remain the best coach he has ever played for.

He told NOS: “He is the best coach I have ever had. He is the best because of everything.
“He is 24/7 football, just football, football, football and it is incredible what kind of progress he makes, how much he invests in football. Tactical things, always developing himself, developing new things, always something nice and you always learn so many things with him.”
For Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, Tadic’s comments should be music to their ears. After a prolonged end-of-season review, the United co-owner opted to stick with Ten Hag as their manager for next season.
Explaining how he discovered their decision, Ten Hag said: “The club management came to me while I was on holiday in Ibiza. They suddenly showed up on my doorstep and told me they wanted to continue with me.
“It was a turbulent season. Never a dull moment.
“Manchester United have told me that they spoke with [Thomas] Tuchel, but they eventually came to the conclusion that they already have the best manager.”
