Police have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 20s was stabbed to death after a fight broke out in central London late last night.
The Metropolitan Police said three men have been arrested over the attack in Westminster where a gunshot was also fired.
Police were called at 10.40pm to reports of a fight on Bell Street, at the junction with Edgware Road.
Officers rushed to the scene and found a man with knife wounds. They administered CPR before London Ambulance Service paramedics arrived.
But despite the best efforts of emergency services, the man – aged in his late 20s – died at the scene.
Police believe they know who the man is and are working to inform his next of kin.
The three men who have been arrested remain in custody at central London police stations.
A number of crime scenes are in place and urgent enquiries are progressing. A yellow and white forensic tent has been pictured inside a police cordon.
Police added that it was reported that at least one gunshot had been fired.
Edgware Station is closed while police continue a murder investigation.
Bell Street has been closed since 11pm last night and has been cordoned off for more than eight hours.
