A few hours ago, the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE leaked in all its glory, with official-looking images as well as specs. There has been some controversy regarding its name in the past few weeks, with some sources going with Watch FE, while others claiming it would actually be called Galaxy Watch4 (2024).
The debate is now settled, as the Galaxy Watch FE has been certified by the Bluetooth SIG with that exact name – so Galaxy Watch FE it is.
That said, this is basically a re-launched Galaxy Watch4, as the leaked specs from earlier today can attest, so that name wouldn’t have been out of place either. In the end, Samsung chose not to overtly advertise that it’s relaunching the Watch4 three years later.
The name was one of two Watch FE puzzle pieces that were still missing after the earlier leak, the other being the price. Now a tipster over on X has given us that information too – apparently the Watch FE will go for €199 in the Eurozone. That may or may not translate to $199 in the US – it could be a bit less, but definitely not more, judging by how these conversions from one market to another usually work.
Interestingly, over in France if you buy a Galaxy S24, S24+, or S24 Ultra from today and until June 30 and get an Orange plan for it, you will receive a free Galaxy Watch FE. This might indicate that the Watch FE could be getting official earlier than the Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, which are expected to be announced on July 10.
