A woman who was fighting for her life following a crash in Trafford has died from her injuries. Emergency services were called out to Stretford Road, in Urmston, at around 8.30pm on Thursday, May 23, after a Ford Fiesta collided with a lamppost.
Greater Manchester Police says the driver, a 74-year-old woman, had suffered a suspected medical episode while travelling eastbound on the road. She had been cut free from her car by fire crews before being handed over to the care of paramedics.
The driver was then taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition following the crash. In an update issued this morning (June 3), GMP confirmed that she has since died as a result of her injuries.
