Police are in attendance close to a Stockport railway station this morning. Part of Heaton Moor Road is closed off in both directions near to Heaton Chapel station.
Stagecoach reported a ‘police incident’ on the street that was affecting its bus services this morning (June 3). Meanwhile, rail services are being disrupted in the area after a person was hit by a train.
A Northern spokesperson posted on X: “Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport all lines are blocked. Network Rail and Emergency Services are on site.”

It’s not yet confirmed if the Heaton Moor Road scene and the incident on the railway line are linked. Queues are starting to build on roads close to the scene.
Rail services are being delayed and cancelled between Piccadilly and Stockport. Emergency services have been contacted for further details.

National Rail says emergency services have been on the railway line between Piccadilly and Stockport this morning after a person was hit by a train.
It says the incident was near Levenshulme. We’re awaiting confirmation it’s linked to the Heaton Moor Road closure.
Railway lines were closed earlier this morning but are now beginning to reopen.
Cancellations and delays are expected to continue over the next hour.
