We’re about two and a half weeks away from Hellblade 2 releasing on Xbox Game Pass, and it looks like launch plans are kicking into gear over at Microsoft and Ninja Theory. Not only is the developer starting to “share something every day” from now until launch, but Xbox exec Aaron Greenberg has also talked more about Microsoft’s plans for this upcoming first-party exclusive.
Greenberg has taken to Twitter to inform the community that he’s just “had a great review with the team leading our big global & regional marketing plans to support Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II” – and those plans include a ‘cinema launch program’, a global media campaign, something special from Iceland — where the game is set — and more.
“Had a great review with the team leading our big global & regional marketing plans to support Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. It all starts next week as we optimize leading up to launch and beyond. So many fun creative plans, to name a few:
– Global paid media campaign

+ So much moreExcited to share more & celebrate this immersive & visually stunning masterpiece from the team @NinjaTheory. In the meantime you can Wishlist, pre-order, pre-install on Game Pass, Xbox, & PC/Steam to get ready for the big launch on May 21st!”
Okay, so, we’re not entirely sure what all of this means for us as fans sitting at home, but still, it’s sounding like the big hype machine is about to kick into overdrive for Hellblade 2. We’re intrigued to see how Microsoft goes about marketing this one in the coming weeks and months, especially with it being Xbox’s first big exclusive of the year.
Developer Ninja Theory is doing its part as well, though. Every day this month it plans to share new information on Hellblade 2, starting with the above screenshot, a sneak peek at PC Ultrawide support, and just a few moments ago – all of the recommended specs for the PC version of Hellblade 2.
Wherever you’re planning on playing Ninja Theory’s upcoming Hellblade sequel, you can access Hellblade 2 through Xbox Game Pass – on May 21st, 2024.
