A main road through a Derbyshire village is currently closed after a serious crash. Emergency services are responding to a collision on Nottingham Road, in Borrowash.
The A6005 is currently closed at the junctions with Station Road and Victoria Avenue. Derbyshire police say that the closure is likely to remain in place for some time.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Local diversions are in place, but please avoid the area and take alternative routes where possible. A further update will be issued once the road has re-opened. No further information is available at this time.”

Cordon extended
Police at the scene have extended the cordon further down Victoria Avenue. This is restricting motorists from travelling down the road towards Spondon.
Traffic is still very heavy in the area surrounding Nottingham Road.

Heavy traffic in Borrowash
There is currently heavy traffic around Nottingham Road in Borrowash following a serious collision. Nottingham Road is closed in both directions from Station Road to Barrons Way.
The junctions of both Station Road and Victoria Avenue are closed. Emergency services are at the scene.
