A rowdy British Airways flight attendant was flown home after getting involved in a fight at a Maldives hotel that can cost up to £2,000 a night.
The stewardess, who has not been named, was made to fly back to the UK from the Maldives after guests at the Oblu Xperience Ailafushi, after flying with her coworkers from Heathrow to capital Malé last week.
But she brought her daughter and a friend out with her, thanks to some discounted tickets.
After guzzling drink after drink, thanks to an all-inclusive package, they continued to party on a balcony at one of their villas.
But after fellow holidaymakers complained about the ‘screaming and screeching’ coming from the villas, a fight broke out late in the evening after hotel management warned the trio about their loutishness.
A source told the Sun: ‘There was a lot of pushing and shoving, then fists were flying.
‘Onlookers got involved as they tried to break it up. It was the last straw for the hotel. BA was informed and the stewardess was ordered home.’
Hotel staff contacted British Airways and threatened to remove the entire crew from the hotel, following the incident.
But only the offending flight attendant was made to return to London, with her daughter and friend flying back the next day.
British Airways rules state that their employees are responsible for the behaviour of anyone travelling under their name.
BA flight attendants embarrassed the company earlier this year, after two were sacked for filming a racist video where a colleague mocked Asian passengers by making slant-eyed gestures and putting on a Chinese accent.
Holly Walton and Lauren Bray have both been dismissed from the airline after the clip emerged on TikTok.
But a source close to Ms Bray, 28, from Crawley, West Sussex, says that the clip in which Ms Walton appears to mock Asian passengers, is more than two years old and has been manipulated by a colleague with whom she has a long-running dispute.
They claimed that Ms Bray has reported the colleague to Sussex Police – and said they uploaded the video to TikTok and maliciously linked Ms Bray’s name to it.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Ms Bray’s friend said she is appealing against her dismissal – and accused BA of making a ‘rash decision’ without conducting a proper investigation.
‘The video is fake. It’s a fake TikTok account’, the source close to her said. ‘It’s all false and has nothing to do with Lauren.
‘The clip and photos that have been manipulated are from 2019 and 2022.’
