A PACKED plane erupted into cheers as a “disgraceful” passenger was hauled off a diverted Scots Jet2 flight by cops.
Flight LS727 took off from Edinburgh yesterday morning taking excited holidaymakers to Tenerife.
The pilots were forced to divert the plane to Portugal because of a disruptive passenger.
Other passengers told how the mid-air lout kicked off and was threatening the crew onboard.
Pilots landed the plane at Porto Santo airport in Portugal where cops were waiting.
The man was walking the aisle as cabin crew tried to get him to return to his seat.
There were shouts of “yes” as five cops boarded the plane.
Others at the back of the plane cheered as the man was surrounded by officers.
The passenger even tried to put one arm around one of the cops as they walked him off the plane.
The rest of the passengers applauded and cheered again as two Portuguese policemen put the man’s arms behind his back and marched him down the stairs.
