Crystal Palace are set to call time on Roy Hodgson’s second reign as head coach.
It remains to be seen if Hodgson departs before Monday’s clash against Everton but a decision has been made to make a change before the end of the season amid major supporter discontent.
Chairman Steve Parish originally wanted to stick with Hodgson until the summer, but the veteran manager’s position at Selhurst Park has been uncertain for a number of weeks amid a run of just three wins in 19 matches in all competitions.
Discussions are now underway over who will replace Hodgson.
Mail Sport revealed on February 7 that Palace were interested in former Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Olivier Glasner.
Co-owner John Textor is understood to be pushing the merits of Glasner and would back his appointment.
Glasner first held talks with leading Eagles officials last summer when the club considered alternatives to Hodgson, who was eventually given a new 12 month contract.
Steve Cooper, Julen Lopetegui and Kieran McKenna were all high on the club’s list – but the trio are understood to be reluctant to take the role at the moment. Parish has spoken to his fellow owners to discuss Hodgson’s future and the candidates to replace him.
