A Scandinavian Airlines plane headed to Manchester Airport was intercepted by two RAF Typhoons this afternoon.
Flight trackers show the plane from Oslo to Manchester being intercepted over the north east of England. Trackers show the RAF aircrafts guiding the plane into the Manchester before it landed safely.

The plane ‘lost communications’ on the way to Manchester, a spokesperson for the airport confirmed. The Typhoons were deployed to escort it to a safe landing as is ‘standard procedures’.
The plane has now landed safely and communications have been restored. Fire crews and a paramedics have also met the plane on landing as part of the procedure, the spokesperson added.
Scandinavian Airlines has also been contacted for a comment.
