Matty Godden is being lauded by the Coventry City faithful after he scored two late goals in a 6-2 thrashing of Oxford United in the FA Cup on Saturday.
His brace built on goals from Joel Latibeaudiere, Ben Sheaf, Kasey Palmer and Callum O’Hare to sweep Oxford aside and ensure progression into the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Godden is being widely praised by the Sky Blue Army on social media, with one supporter noting that he “looked teary eyed” after his second goal. Another pointed out that “all the Godden haters went silent” after the striker’s brace.
