Kirsten Dunst put on a classy display alongside husband, Jesse Plemons, as they attended the star-studded 2024 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on Thursday.
The Bring It On star, 41 – who is slated to appear in the A24 film Civil War with the Friday Night Lights alum, 35 – joined other celebrities at the glitzy event, including Margot Robbie and Emma Stone.
The Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards recognize break out performances in film as the festival is known for having the ability to spread good word-of-mouth for movies.
The mother-of-two was stunning in a black dress that was held up with straps that wrapped around her shoulders and contained a scooped neckline on the front.
While pausing for a photo session on the red carpet, the beauty also showed off the backless portion of the ensemble that offered a sultry flare.
The hem of the gown concealed the shoes that she had opted to wear, and fell into a short train behind Kirsten, who starred as an aspiring beauty queen in cult 2000 movie Drop Dead Gorgeous.
Her blonde locks were pulled back and styled into a half up do, allowing strands to effortlessly flow down in elegant curls.
Dunst added a pair of mini, silver earrings as well as a sparkling necklace to accessorize her look for the special evening.
The actress’s makeup was classically done, and comprised of a layer of mascara to her lashes as well as a light, smoky shadow around her eyes.
A warm blush was added to better accentuate her cheekbones, while a glossy, peach tint was worn on her lips for a finishing touch.
Kirsten was joined by her husband, Jesse Plemons, whom she tied the knot with in July 2022.
The actor was dressed to impress wearing a pair of black slacks as well as a suit jacket that was buttoned at the front.
He added a white dress shirt underneath, as well as a black bowtie. To complete his ensemble, Plemons slipped into a pair of sleek, black dress shoes.
The lovebirds – who share sons Ennis, five, and James, two – sweetly posed together for a series of snaps before heading into the main venue ahead of the ceremony.
Plemons notably starred in Martin Scorsese’s Killers Of The Flower Moon and the film was honored with the Vanguard Award during the night.
Alongside Jesse, other stars that appeared in the Apple TV+ project included Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Robert De Niro and Brendan Fraser.
The movie was released on the streaming site in October 2023 and also premiered in theaters, garnering around $156 million in the box office.
According to a press release, ‘The Vanguard Award is a group honor distinguishing a film’s cast and director in recognition of their collective work on an exceptional film project.’
‘The award will be presented to Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese, Academy Award winner and Executive Producer Leonardo DiCaprio and Gotham Award nominee Lily Gladstone, all of whom will be in attendance.’
Festival Chairman, Nachhattar Singh Chandi, stated that the film, ‘is a powerful and important film not only for its cinematic poetry, but also as a complicated story about the suspicious murders of members of the Osage Nation, one which fully illustrates the evils of racism and corruption.’
‘Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film features a powerhouse ensemble performance by Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons and Tantoo Cardinal making it the must-see film of the year.’
The movie is also nominated for seven Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director for Scorsese and Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for DiCaprio.
Both Dunst and Plemons will also appear onscreen in the upcoming A24 film titled, Civil War, which is slated to release later this year on April 26. The pair previously starred in The Power Of The Dog (2021) together.
The premise follows, per IMDB: ‘In the near future, a team of journalists travel across the United States during a rapidly escalating civil war that has engulfed the entire nation.’
Cailee Spaeny and Nick Offerman were also cast in the project – which was directed by Alex Garland.
According to Variety, the movie will not exceed three hours in length, despite previous reports, and will have a run time of 1 hour and 49 minutes.
