We’re not huge fans of the whole “new year, new me” thing here at Cosmo, because nothing good ever came from putting that much pressure on ourselves – particularly when we’re only just easing back into normal life after a particularly indulgent and lazy Christmas break. That said, we are very much looking forward to getting back into some kind of health and wellbeing routine this January, and as fashion aficionados, that of course means getting hyped about activewear again.
Perfect timing, then, for our favourite high-street brand H&M to launch a shiny new sportswear collection under its Move line – and it’s pulling out all the stops to do so. Not only is the collection itself one of the best we’ve seen to date (more on this later), but we can also exclusively reveal that H&M has called on none other than British singer-songwriter, former Cosmo UK cover star and all-round icon Raye to be the face of its new campaign.
Launching today, the exciting partnership sees the powerhouse musician star in H&M Move’s latest campaign video, modelling hero pieces while discussing her career and the importance of movement in her life. “I really believe that movement is for everyone,” Raye tells Cosmo UK. “Movement is medicine, the same way music is, and that’s what I do. I put my music on, get in a safe space, and just let myself be free and move. Movement is about your unique journey and how you need to move forward in this life. It’s empowering to own the way you move.”
The new H&M Move collection doesn’t officially drop until January 11th, but if this sneak peek is anything to go by, we have a sneaking suspicion that it’s going to be *major*. We’re already counting down the days until we can get our hands on Raye’s super stylish 90s-inspired ensemble, made up of ribbed leggings, a plunging sports bra and a cute long-sleeve shrug, all matching in the perfect slate grey shade.
We’re equally as obsessed with the cropped metallic activewear top complete with sexy cut-out that Raye models in another shot from the campaign – not to mention the genius move of adding silver accessories and make-up to the look for a futuristic vibe. Gym wear just got a whole lot more appealing…
And if you’re struggling for motivation? Raye to the rescue with some words of wisdom for that, too: “We all need those endorphins, that physical confidence. Work on self love, feeling good, keeping your body fit in whatever way and shape and form that means for you.”
The new H&M Move activewear collection drops on the 11th January 2024.
