In a weather-hit programme, Newcastle United knocked Burnley off the top of the table with a narrow win over West Brom, as Becky Ferguson scored on 85 minutes. Nottingham Forest climbed to third spot, they had been pegged back by a penalty but Holly Manders restored the lead from the spot for the first of her brace at the Bet365 Stadium.

Jazmin Younger and Emma Jones gave Portsmouth a 2-0 interval lead at London Bees, substitutes Ella Humphrey and Danielle Lane adding late goals as they went top on goal-difference, Cheltenham Town having pulled off a fine win at Hashtag United with Lucy Copsey’s late effort. Billericay Town shared the points with third-placed Ipswich Town, a Nicky Potts double saw Rugby Borough edge Chatham Town 2-1 to rise to fourth position.

Stockport County 3-1 Norton & Stockton Ancients (Att: 76)
Hull City hit FC United for six in front of over 1,000 at Craven Park, taking over the leadership from Barnsley WFC on goal-difference. Stockport County’s defeat of Norton was aided by an Olivia Greenhalgh double and lifted them to fourth, while the visitors had a player red-carded after the final whistle.

Norwich City 2-0 AFC Wimbledon (Att: 320)
Norwich City cut AFC Wimbledon’s lead to three points with a game in hand, after the Canaries defeated the Dons with two goals from Natasha Snelling, QPR came from behind to win at Ashford with a second-half Grace Stanley brace, which kept them within three points of Norwich.
