Vintage West, located on West Street, specialises in providing customers with antiques and collectables to bring a new shine to their homes.
Run by business partners Martin and Rachel, Prowse Antiques and Interiors @ Vintage West stock traditional antiques and collectables, as well as a wide range of decorative interior pieces.
Martin described the moment he found out his shop would feature on BBC Two’s Antiques Road Trip.
“I saw it as a huge opportunity,” he explained.
“I felt pretty privileged that we’d been selected – it was an honour.”
Martin didn’t find out which celeb would be visiting the shop until the day of filming, but made sure to spend the prior 48 hours making sure Vintage West was prepared and suitable for the BBC cameramen to navigate their way round without damaging any of the valuable antiques.
His business partner Rachel was reportedly “a bit star struck” by the presence of Dynasty star Stephanie Beacham.
The full episode can be found to watch for free on BBC iPlayer.
Martin described Vintage West as: “Not only perfect to make homes stylish and special, but also a great place to find a unique gift.”
The bespoke shop opened during lockdown and has since served as a valuable asset to West Street and the local community.
Vintage West is open Tuesday to Friday from 10:30am to 5pm, and open again from 9:30am to 5pm on Saturdays.
