‘Not being treated as terror related’ – Met Police
The Met Police has confirmed they don’t think the incident was terror-related.
It has been just over five hours since a car crashed into a group of people at a Central London bus stop, but investigations so far seem to have ruled out a terror motive.
Police are still trying to work out what happened, with a police cordon still in place and a large chunk of Aldwych still closed off to traffic.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Enquiries into the circumstances continue. At this stage, the incident is not being treated as terror related.”

Condition unknown for eight pedestrians
So far the condition of the eight wounded pedestrians is unknown as police are yet to reveal the extent of their injuries.
The Metropolitan Police has only said the injured were taken by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service to hospital for treatment.
The force says there are no further details on the age or sex of the pedestrians and they are still waiting for an update on their condition from doctors before they can release any more detail.
A spokesperson for the Met also said the driver was taken to hospital, but only as a precaution. This suggests his injuries may not be serious.
